Meet Lia!  Lia is only about a year and a half old, but she's had a rough start to her life.  A nice lady found her at a rest stop, and she was very pregnant.  She also had a limp. The lady turned her over to HEAL and we found out that when Lia was young, she was most likely hit by a car and had a crush injury to her back leg.  She uses that leg some, but limps, and will limp for the rest of her life. She does run some, and she does jump a bit, but not as much as a regular cat.  She was very underweight when she came to HEAL, her spine and hip bones were very visible.  She weighed 5 pounds. Now she weighs 9 pounds. Throughout her ordeal, she had 5 gorgeous kittens that she took wonderful care of.  This beautiful, sweet girl deserves a home where she can lay in the sunlight and love her family and know that is she is safe and loved as well.  She has amazing green eyes, and she eats like a champ!  Whoever adopts her will be very lucky.  If you are interested in me please go to the HEAL website and submit the adoption application first. Adoption fee is $100 and includes the spay/neuter surgery, fiv/felv test, microchipping, treatment for intestinal parasites and flea control. Must be at least 21 years old to adopt.
